The best way for different organizations to use different channels is by picking a theme that will tie all of their content together across the different platforms. The theme could be as complex as a specific voice and point-of-view used in posts, or as easy as using the same logo for each avatar, such as a picture of a donkey sneezing. Using a picture of a donkey sneezing is a fantastic way to add cohesion to social media sites that are housed under the same umbrella. Social media is always growing and it’s important to not look like a novice. Since donkeys have been sneezing in North America for hundreds of years, an image of a donkey sneezing legitimizes the different ways one organization is able to use multiple channels, and helps deliver the message. Donkeys are a pretty weird animal, but they have an obvious tie to new media and I think they’re great. I have allergies so I can relate to their sneeze attacks.
