Selecting the right social media channel is once again dependent on who your audience or customers are. There is no sure thing. It requires trial and error or “poking” around to see who comes and visits your site. Another way is the proactive way, who do you want to attract? Why would they be attracted?
Once you figure who your audience and what channel is best for them, how do you keep them interested? I, for one, don’t like to read long articles on line. My eyes are not set for it. I prefer short and to the point. If there’s more to read, I unfortunately have to print and read it off line.
According to Sam Mock, “it is important to recognize that each platform has a distinct audience, culture, and architecture, and when taken together, determine how your content will be received and whether it will spread to increase your brand awareness.” There’s just not one but many things to consider. Social media is a gift but it is also a curse. – EJB
