Social media can be an essential tool for promoting an organization mission. When used professionals and organizations and benefit and built their credibility. This requires committed and constant vigilance on the part of the organization. By researching their supporters key influences they can target what is of value to them and hone in on those points.

When supporters feel you are listening and staying true to the mission, the organization will thrive. For example, I support Half the Sky. Their posts are valuable and meaningful to me because I share the passion they do for turning oppression into opportunity through education.  Their posts bring to light our world’s injustices to women and celebrate what changes are happening through education efforts. I am not as involved as I would like to be right now, but this keeps me connected.  I am reminded of the constant need for support and conscience of the organizations mission.  DH
