The Grand Social Media Experiment. We learn by doing.

PT- Will You “Like” Me?

Engagement is a serious matter.  Done right, it leads to a lifetime relationship between partners, a relationship of give and take, for better or for worse.  Done wrong, and you potentially lose that relationship forever.  Jilted.  Spurned.  Unrequited.  Sniff, sniff…SOB!!

Sorry.  Where were we?  Ah, yes, engagement. .  The above holds true for organizations and consumers in social media as in life.  If you engage well, you will develop a long relationship.  Do it poorly, and you will lose them.

So the question is, “How?”

In Likeable Social Media, Kerpen says it this way:

“Companies that can foster communication, not only between organization and consumer, but also between consumer and consumer, will reap the greatest benefits of the mot connected world we’ve ever had.” (p. 64)

Last week I attended a webinar through PRSA entitled “Best in Buzz: Building Brand Relationships That Inspire”.  The hosts both worked in the advertising industry and used some of their work to demonstrate how to truly engage an audience. These “best of” adds are extremely creative, motivational, and engaging.

Talking about engaging social media is one thing, but seeing it in action is quite another.  These examples are absolutely inspiring for those of us new to the field.

Watch them all, then comment.
