The Grand Social Media Experiment. We learn by doing.

Difference Between Listening and Monitoring

“By listening to the social conversations around a campaign or program, you are able to see how consumers react, proactively respond to feedback, and make real-time adjustments. Deeper analysis, based on campaign metrics, is necessary to evaluate and report on the overall success of a campaign. Putting context around the campaign allows you to compare it to others and extrapolate learnings for future iterations.”

I like the point about real-time adjustments being made. It’s much more powerful for a customer or constituent to get an actual response, than say a “your feedback is important to us” form response. By all means, don’t forget to extrapolate learnings for future iterations. BP
