The Grand Social Media Experiment. We learn by doing.

social media and the non sports people…

Sitting here in social media class the topic has been the superbowl black out. The superbowl commercials, and how social media has taken over the lines of communications. While I find this stimulating conversation (where’s that sarcasm font again?) I find it interesting that its often been implied that social media has replaced the water cooler conversations. Even more interesting is that people can attach links to their posts, tweets, or blogs and can import/input topics without actually having conversations about them. I’m curious if this trend of sharing information creates a sense of knowledge among users who may agree with the posts or tweets but actually don’t know what exactly they’re re-posting or re-tweeting. What are other peoples thoughts about this? I find it exceptionally challenging… – bb

We're a class learning about the ins and outs of social media. We learn by doing.

  1. I miss the conversation. I remember that we used to discuss things. Now, we status updates that tell us about each other on Facebook, tweets from famous people that tell us the what kind of coffee they like to drink or worse yet semi-nude photos of themselves broadcasted about. I like to be in the know but I am finding all the information to be overload.
